What you'll learn
What Fitts' Law says
The time to move to a target grows with distance and shrinks with target width. Big, close targets are the fastest to hit.
Design implication: size your tap targets
Primary actions deserve generous size. Material guidance recommends 48dp touch targets; Apple recommends 44pt.
Screen edges are infinite
On desktop, targets at screen edges and corners are easy to hit because the cursor stops there. That is why menu bars sit at the edge.
